Visitors: Gaga & Pop (Coney Island and Tavern on the Green)

During Israel's spring break, Will's parents "GaGa and Pop" came to visit! The trip was on Easter weekend which ended up being a huge blessing for us. It was Pop's first time to meet Annalise and the big kids loved having their grandparents in town. 




Friday morning we went to the NY Aquarium in Coney Island. We tried this last August but Israel had a very hard morning. I don't know if Israel has just matured or if having Will's parents as a buffer helped, but Israel did fantastic! He loved walking around the aquarium with his grandparents and we ALL enjoyed the sea lion show. It was great!

 
 

We walked over to a pizza place and had the most delicious pepperoni pizza. Israel even had TWO big slices.

 
 

We decided to walk the boardwalk at Coney Island and of course the kids rode a few rides. We let Israel decide which ones to do, and he picked the firetrucks, carousel and race cars.

 
 
 

The race cars were hilarious because they would go super fast on the curves and the kids were squished in. They were giggling so hard and it was such a joy for us to watch. It was one of those parenting moments where you are just overflowing because your people are happy.

After the kids had a rest time, Will's dad took Israel on a train ride. Edith did not want to be left out so we took a girls trip on the subway then came back and had ice cream here in Bay Ridge.

 
 

Friday night we had a very special treat. Will's parents took us to Tavern on the Green in central park. We got a babysitter for the kids and had a fancy dinner out. I don't think we've ever gone out just the four of us, and it was a really special night in a beautiful setting. It was definitely a night to remember.
