Daddy Day (Israel in the City / Block Party)

Saturday Will decided to have some one-on-one time with the kids. In the morning he loaded up Israel and they had fun on the trains and walking around for a bit. Isn't our little city kid adorable? I think his love tank was filled up from the train ride and one on one time.

They stopped in Bryant Park for a late breakfast.

Israel stole daddy's smoothie. And he walked around with his "artisanal waffle" which is just so hilarious.

That afternoon Will took Edith to a block party for a few hours. Meanwhile, Israel, Annalise and I had some quality time with our neighbors. We headed over for just a few minutes later in the day, but didn't stay too long because at that point Edith was exhausted!

She loved getting her face painted, and we have gotten a lot of wear out of this crown!!

I'm glad Will documented what the face paint was supposed to look like, because by the time I saw it her face was one black smear.

City kids! Playing with a fire hydrant. Isn't this so classic New York?

Give this kid a cup and she will be entertained for hours.

Our newest Crossroads pastor's kid, Brooklyn Via!

The rest of the McGee kiddos arrived for block party fun:

Israel was so excited about the water!

This little fly bike has been a great investment for us! It folds up so small to fit in the stroller.

I don't know when watching Israel walk will get old. It's still so exciting for us.

The afternoon ended with overtired kids and meltdowns, but as parents of small kids it is important to keep doing stuff, remember the good times, and take pictures to show that the effort (and there's SO MUCH EFFORT right now) is worth it to make good memories with the kids!
