Keeping Busy

The first week of being "referral ready" (homestudy stuff is done) went well. I definitely kept my phone charged and handy, and Will and I made a game plan for when we get a referral. He'll come home if he's at work, we're going to look at the pictures together, and we have our list of must-call people in case we're scattered at the time.

This week I was a bit antsier than before, and definitely stared at my phone willing it to ring a few times! :) But at the same time, I tried to keep myself busy so that I'm not thinking about our referral all the time. I certainly don't want to waste this time that the Lord has given us to get adjusted to our new town before being in a crazy emotional state knowing our child is in Africa!

It is also hard because we're so close to getting our referral, and our sweet friends are keeping in touch with me very regularly, wanting to know if we have gotten any news and to make sure I'm ok. I love it and hate it. I love that people care so much, and love that people are kind to ask- but I'm fighting with my heart all day to stay distracted and not overthink things too!

We have also been more intense in our prayers for our baby. We are praying for safety and comfort as he/she transitions and that our baby will know the love of the Lord more intensely than ever. We are praying for all of the stuff that is going on in Ethiopia right now with some families who are trusting the Lord that their children are safe and coming home to them. We are praying for the officials in MOWYCA and the Court Officials as court reopens next month, for cases to move forward quickly and ethically. We're praying for Almaz and the special mothers at Hannah's Hope who are loving the sweet children and fighting so hard for them to have moms and dads. There is a lot to pray for, and we are doing just that.
