Swim lessons

I applied for the NYC Parks & Rec swim lottery for several weeks, and finally we got a call that Edith was off the waitlist and could go to the final 2 classes of a session. It was a Tuesday/ Thursday when my mom was in town, so she was able to watch Annalise for me.

Edith was SOOO excited about her new goggles. We rode the bus to Sunset Park and she was giddy both days.

We couldn't take any pictures inside but she had a blast. The pool was built in the 1930s! There were 3 teachers in the water and I held Edith the whole time. The parents constantly circled around the pool and the instructors would sing songs to encourage the kids to swim and do certain motions. Like ring around the roses and then dunk them when it was "ashes ashes they all fall down." Edith loved it!

She really loved jumping off the side of the pool when it was at the end of the class. She has always been fearless in the water. The last day we were all given duckies that we floated around with, we would throw it and Edith would swim to it. She enjoyed paddling and kicking! She's no where near swim trained but it was a good step in the right direction.

Edith had a blast, I loved making a special memory with her and having one-on-one time with my big girl. What a blessing!
