Prospect Park - Drummer's Grove and Lefrak

On a  Sunday afternoon we went to Prospect Park. We met our dear friends Andrew and Erica, who live close to the drummer's grove. Andrew and Erica have become very close friends of ours and it is always refreshing and easy to spend time with them.

Edie was ready to dance and play. She loves playing with dirt!

Annie loved chewing on a carrot. We always bring bags of carrots for snacks when we go out. It's cheap and healthy!

Here Edith is making Annie dance.

Edith beckoned Will over to dance with her. It was pretty cute the way she summoned him.

Then Edith found a bow in the bag and insisted on wearing it. She's constantly so silly, I just love her personality!

Israel got two sticks and made a drum out of them. He was in his happy place, dancing his shoulders and drumming.

Edie can be so affectionate.

One of the drummers invited Israel over to participate. I love that almost every time we go to the drummer's grove, someone allows Israel to use their drum. He is always so excited and proud. A small part of me is proud that we are living up to what we had hoped to do with our adopted son - instill a part of his heritage. Living in Brooklyn, going to the drummer's circle with other Ethiopians present - this is just good for his heart, whether he knows it or not. He's being exposed to others like him.

We went over to the Lefrak splash pad. Annie wasn't impressed but she was very cute!

Poor Mickey has been soaked so much this summer.

This was when we were ready to go and we had to literally chase Edith down and carry her over to our stroller. She did NOT want to leave.

Soaking wet, dripping Mickey.

We decided to check out Smorgasburg since we were so close. We got some churros and Will got a mango juice. So refreshing for a hot day!

It was another great day in Brooklyn. Love making memories with the kids, enjoying our city, and spending time with great friends. We are blessed.
