Governor's Island
Governor's Island was on my summer bucket list and it did not disappoint! Will's brother Evan came with us and we had a lovely afternoon. We took the new Bay Ridge Ferry over and spent several hours. For being late July, the weather was in the 70s and it was breezy and just so glorious. The kids were delightful, the island was fun to explore, and we didn't really spend money. It was just a perfect day!
Israel was crying because he wanted to be IN the water!
We got to the island and found a lot of cool playground areas!
We stayed over here and had a picnic and watched Edith play on the ropes for a while. Israel took a turn in a big swing too.
My sweet babies! Israel is giving Annalise a kiss here:
Yes, Will is growing a beard:
There she is folks, the sweetest little thing:
As you can see both strollers were pretty packed. Picnic supplies, two scooters, toys and extra clothes!
We FINALLY found the slides! Edith was pretty fearless. Israel and Evan went down once too!
We ended our afternoon at Governor's Island by stopping at the fountains and letting the kids play!
Super chill baby. After spitting up all over outfit #1 she had a costume change.
There is something so "CHILDHOOD!" to me about playing in water in your clothes. I just love that we could say YES go get wet, it doesn't matter.
Fresh lemonade for the win!
Will always rags me about how much I pack when we go places, but I think he agreed that my over-packing came in handy. Extra clothes for the win!
Ferry ride home with Uncle Evan!
Annalise finally caved and took a short nap on the ride home.
Such a great day!! We love exploring NY and it is just neat that there's always something more to discover here. We definitely want to go back to Governor's Island again!
