Embassy Submission!

Today we received an email stating that the US Embassy in Ethiopia has received our file! We have been SUBMITTED!!!!

I cried for a solid five minutes after the news. God is so incredibly faithful. I have been SO PERSISTENT in my prayers this week over this. Just continually claiming God's faithfulness and sovereignty, and petitioning the Lord to bring our son home and submit us to embassy. God is SO FAITHFUL! He answered us! I am humbled that the Lord hears my prayers!! What a joy to have a Heavenly Father who knows us and cares for us.

So now we wait for our file to be "opened" and for an interview to be scheduled. This could take anywhere from 1 week to 3 months. Praying for a VERY SHORT time frame so we can bring our son home soon! Now my prayers have changed from "embassy submission" to "fast interview date and clearance"- so feel free to join me in that!

I have seen the beauty of this community here, and the believers who have joined with me in praying boldly. What a beautiful gift we have been given to intercede for our children and for each other in prayer.

  7. Yipppe!! You are buying a child!! One you cannot afford that was Luke stolen/coerced by deception from his bio family!! And in the Lord's name, to boot!! You must be so proud of yourselves!! It'll be totally heartbreaking if he ends up like HAna Williams, who was also adopted by good Christian folks!!!!

    1. Dear Anonymous, I am extremely sad for you that you are so confused about the state of adoptions in Ethiopia. You have no idea about our son's story. You have no idea about our financial situation. It is true that there are some sad outcomes for some adopted children, but we have been very educated about interracial adoption, international adoption, special needs care and attachment/bonding. I'm sorry if my posts offend you, but you do not have to visit our blog again.

  8. Yipee! You are being EXTREMELY rude and have to hide under the title of "Anonymous!" You must be SO proud that you are such a hateful person! I don't know Rebekah or Will personally, but I cannot believe someone would have the audacity to be so rude.

On a brighter note, Congrats on embassy submission! God is so great! Praying!! :)

  9. I don't know Rebekah or her husband personally either, but whoever that was that felt they needed to leave a comment on here was sooooo rude!!! I am an adoptive mother as well and can say that no one knows our children’s story but us and the birth family. It is beyond my comprehension that someone would think it is okay to attack another family and their child. Yes, it is very sad that our children had to come to us in the way of adoption in the first place, but how great is it that they now have a home...forever???!!! I am just beyond words that someone would feel the need to say such incorrect and terrible things. Rebekah you are a great person (even though I do not know you) because only great people can take another’s child as their own and love them more so for it! Congrats to you and your husband!!
