Big Changes!

We are so thrilled to announce that we are moving to Alabama! Will accepted a position at a church in Jacksonville, and we are thrilled to be a part of what God is doing in that town. When we visited, we saw so many things that made our hearts leap and we can't wait to get down there. Did I mention the pediatrician is from Ethiopia? Yep, pretty cool.

Moving means a lot for us... leaving a church that we love, people that are very dear to us, and a large adoptive community/support system. But we have seen how faithful the Lord was to provide all of these things for us before, and we anticipate that He will meet our needs and equip us to love and serve Him in all places.

So... what about our adoption?

Well, we have to do a completely NEW home study, because we are changing states. New background checks, interviews, home tour, new homestudy agency (we are still clients of AGCI and they will be our placing agency).

This will be a lot of work and a good bit of expense... but you know what? We are confident in the Lord's plan and timing and that all of these bumps in the road will lead us to the child that is meant to be ours. And the extra months of waiting may be good for us as we learn the ropes in a new town and prepare to be parents. So although we don't know exactly how this will affect our timeline, we are excited to move forward and follow God's lead.

  5. That's so exciting! I totally hear you abouthaving to do a completely new homestudy. The more I have prayed about it I know that God is just putting us in the perfect place for the child that he wants to be a part of our family and He is doing the same for your family! Even though, I'm not really looking forward to gathering all the homestudy info again. :)

  6. Congrats on your move. I just stumbled across your blog. I am also an AGCI family (from the Taiwan program). I was the first family (the pilot one!) and brought home my sweet girl Janie...then less than 1 year later, just after the Taiwan program became open to the general public, AGCI called me to say that Janie's birth mom had just given birth to another baby girl and wished to keep the girls together if possible...so I traveled again the following year and brought home Lexie. Lexie is the sweet little girl in the purple on the AGCI Taiwan page!! Isn't she a cutie. Janie is almost 2 1/2 now and Lexie is 17 months. So hard to believe I am a mommy to 2 precious girls! God is so good! I look forward to following your journey!

  11. Best of luck with your move. IT is probably best to move now and get settled in before bringing your child home. Praying that everything with your new homestudy, job and move goes well.
