Happy Gotcha Day Isaiah!!

Last Monday was the Fleming's "Gotcha Day" with Isaiah, but we actually got to meet him at the airport on January 16, 2010.

We owe a lot to the Flemings (although they are way too humble to admit it). They were in our small group when they started (and completed) their adoption process with Isaiah. Soon after, we knew that we felt the same call to Ethiopian adoption and we have needed their advice and encouragement along the way.

In addition to being great parents to Isaiah, they have been leaders of the Orphan Care ministry at our church, and have walked beside many families who have considered adoption. At every adoption yard sale in our area, Heather is up at dawn organizing and selling goods to help bring home babies. And if that weren't enough, every person at our church that has seen little Isaiah must have baby envy, because he is absolutely precious. I'm sure people are interested in adoption just after seeing him! Will and I joke that we have high standards because Isaiah is not only cute but he has such a fun personality.

I hope you enjoy their sweet Gotcha Day video. It has been a blessing to watch God's faithfulness in their lives and to see the way they pour their blessings out to others.

  5. So exciting!!! We are smack dab in the middle of adopting a little girl from Ethiopia. I am so happy I can hardly stand it...but it's hard!!! The book you have in your blog banner, the "my family, my journey" book...we recently bought that and I love it so much, I can't wait to fill it out for our girl :)
