It's ok, we all do it...
I was just informed by my friend Leigh that today is "National Delurking Day" which is a quite hilarious concept to me. So what this means is that blog readers should go ahead and "follow" the blogs they read, post comments, and make themselves known.
Afterall, I think we are allll silent stalkers. Yep, I sure am. Have you ever seen someone in Wal-Mart, wondering how their family vacation went, only to realize you don't actually know that person? Or ever be in your hometown, and wave to a person on the street because thats your friend, but really that person doesn't know you, you just read her blog?
It's easy to blog hop. To bookmark a page without "following" or to read something without acknowledging it. And while I don't think there's harm in it, I encourage us to step out and be real. Let me know who you are, where you're from and I'd love to get to know you. Even if you have never met me or if you think it's weird to say hi. I tried to do a little "quiz" a few months ago to get to know you, but didn't get the response I was expecting considering I only got a small number of replies for the number of people that stop by each day. So now's the chance for redemption, a new year where we can boldlystalk get to know each other in this weird and overly detailed internet world.
And here is my "introductions" page if you are new around here want to know a little more about our story too :)

Girl, you know I am a faithful follower of your blog!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny! I love it- you know I'm lurking here, right?
ReplyDeleteOkay...so I guess I should finally say hello :) I am an old friend of Haley and Will's. I have known the McGee's for over 20 years! In fact, I used to babysit Haley and Will about 20 years ago when I was only 12. I am so excited and encouraged to read your journey to adoption. I have been so blessed to see how Father is working in your lives. You are so precious and I hope that one day I will actually get to meet you face to face! :)
ReplyDeleteDelurking....i mean wait, I talk to you almost every day! hah! 3 weeks from now we will be hanging out in our hotel room together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess the reason I never comment is that my being in the older generation - well - doesn't seem like - well - yeah - just seems like it would seem weird to you.
ReplyDeleteI met you at the yard sale in Scottsboro at Janice and Tommy's house. I am Elizabeth and I am extremely interested in all of your updates. Can't wait until you have your baby - long for you to feel him or her in your arms - get excited when you post the new numbers.
I have known the McGees for a long time - so naturally I am drawn to what you and Will are experiencing - still - I love any child finding "home" - finding the love of his or her creator -
I love seeing God's children walking in obedience and seeing how He unfolds His incredible game plan...or....whatever we should call it. Living.
You know I love reading your blog and am so proud to call you my friend:) Love you Bekah!
ReplyDeleteI'm one day late, hope that is ok. I read your blog often. You were one of the first blogs I came across when my husband and I started out on our adoption journey. We are with the same agency. It is nice to finally say hello.
ReplyDeleteOnly "lurked" on your blog twice before I realized that I would definitely love to follow it!!!
ReplyDeleteso, I guess I should come clean. Elizabeth Toney was my camp war eagle counselor at Auburn and I saw your blog on the side of her page. I can feel the love you already have for your baby and cannot wait to follow as you bring him or her home!
ReplyDeletehah, that's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAlright, I'm stepping out. I read your blog and I love it!
You guys are awesome! Thanks for introducing yourselves. Means SO much that you are investing in our journey!
